Yes, DCAA is completely free. There are no tuition fees, no hidden costs, and no charges for materials or certification. We are committed to making world-class vertical content training accessible to African creators and the global diaspora.
DCAA is designed for African creators and the global African diaspora. The program is conducted entirely online and accessible worldwide. Our mission is to build Africa's microdrama infrastructure, and we welcome applications from filmmakers across the African continent and diaspora communities globally. As long as you have reliable internet access and meet the eligibility requirements, you can apply from anywhere in the world.

12-15 hours per week for 3 weeks.
Yes, it's designed for working people.
Choose what you're best at or most interested in. You can learn other streams later.
Depends on your stream. Scriptwriting only needs a computer. Directing needs a smartphone with a camera. See individual stream pages for details.
In week 3, we match you with students from other streams based on location, timezone, and working style.
You can form a production company with your team, get hired by platforms, receive funding for your content, or offer freelance services.
DCAA facilitates introductions to streaming platforms where appropriate, but acceptance by platforms is at their sole discretion. Our focus is on training you to create platform-ready content that meets industry standards."
It teaches you to create video using artificial intelligence tools, which dramatically reduces production costs and time.

While DCAA’s primary mission is to build Africa’s microdrama infrastructure and train African creators, the program is open to African creators across the continent and the global African diaspora, as well as filmmakers worldwide who are genuinely passionate about African storytelling and committed to contributing to the vertical drama ecosystem; the program is conducted online in English, making it accessible globally, and applicants are expected to clearly articulate their connection to African narratives and how they plan to contribute to this mission.
We will accept 300 students total across all six streams (approximately 50 per stream). Admission is competitive.
